Run Lola Run Lola's boyfriend Manni lost $100,000 that belongs to a gangster, and Lola has just 20 minutes to come up with that amount of money before Manni robs a grocery store to get the money. The film depicts three different scenarios and their outcomes based on the different things Lola decides to do during her run to meet Manni. The movie will wear you out and reenergize you at the same time as you watch Lola run throughout the entire movie. She seems so determined and unstoppable that you can't help put root for her to succeed even when she decides to do it through dishonorable means. The movie does not give the characters very much of a background story, but it does not need to because the intense race against the clock really allows you to feel for Lola and Manni regardless of who they are or what they have done.
The movie may have been fairly short, but it was just the right amount of time to keep me involved and entertained. The three alternative scenarios that the film presents allow you to see just the right amount of possible outcomes for the situation. If there was just one more or one less the film would not be satisfying. The fact that only the very beginning of Lola's run is the same each time allows you to understand that the situation is starting all over again without making you board by showing too much repeated footage.
Run Lola Run presents its plot in a very original and intense way which is what makes the film so enjoyable.
